Quinta Chair

Black lacquered steel rods form the frame of this postmodern chair, with a perforated sheet metal seat and back that keep it visually open. The curved armrests and angled seat have an industrial, architectural sensibility that reads as much like a structure as it does a place to sit.

Designed by Swiss architect Mario Botta for Italian manufacturer Alias in 1985, the Quinta reflects Botta's background in architecture, where geometric forms and structural honesty drive every decision. No longer in production, these chairs are increasingly sought after by design collectors. Sold individually.
