Arivalo I

A towering ceramic vessel by Gianfranco Briceño that rises from a rough, charred black foot into a tall body of dark green and brown, capped by a thick crust of white glaze. Figures are sketched into the darker midsection, surfacing through the heavily textured finish. Worked in engobes, oxides, and glazes through a high temperature firing process.

Briceño is a Peruvian ceramicist, sculptor, painter, and photographer based in São Paulo, Brazil who uses themes of masculinity and classical mythology in his multidisciplinary practice.
